Our interior designers have worked on the refurbishment of the Keel Row Bookshop in Whitley Bay, transforming the old commercial pharmacy property into a haven for book lovers while preserving and enhancing its period features. The design emphasises the building’s historical charm
The period details, such as original moldings, vintage light fixtures, and restored woodwork, have been highlighted.
One of the standout features is the inclusion of classic library ladders, which add both functionality and a touch of old-world elegance. These ladders allow visitors to reach the high shelves, adding a sense of adventure and discovery as they browse through the extensive collection of books, maps and prints.
